On Sunday, March 24, Arnold van Nobelen passed away at the age of 88. He was the founder of Nobels Group in Noordwijkerhout. In 1955, he started building machinery for the bulb industry behind his parents’ house in a barn.

Development

In 1958, the first prototypes of the harvester and planter are made. Three years later, the barn becomes too small and Nobels moves to new premises. At this time, intensive cooperation with Javo also begins and production expands to include machines for horticulture. In 2000, Nobels Group acquires Javo. As of 2014, Agro Techniek and Javo International also belong to Nobels Group. Four years later, they all settled into their current location at the Bulb Trade Park.

Concerned

Even after his retirement, Van Nobelen remained tremendously involved in the development and progress of the company. He regularly stopped by for a tour of the factory and a cup of coffee with his wife or older brother Pete.

Condole

There will be an opportunity for farewell and condolences on Thursday, March 28, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Nobels Group factory building at Bulb Trade Park 1 in Noordwijkerhout.
