Business Development Manager at Javo
Education
Technical pre-training, lots of courses and finally HBO Middle Management. I am still learning every day!
How do you spend your spare time?
In my time off I like to read, walk and cycle a lot with my wife Christy. With my daughter Noa I do sports every week and with my son Bram I regularly visit car shows. I enjoy activities together as a family: going to the cinema, having a bite to eat somewhere, a weekend away. I also enjoy doing that with friends.
How did you end up at Javo?
Through a combination of circumstances I came in contact with Koos. I told him that I had been keeping an eye on Javo’s website for a while for a vacancy that would suit me. We made an appointment and eventually Koos asked if I wanted to be responsible for the Javo Toploaders. The rest is history.
Describe your workday
I always start the day by starting up the computer over a cappuccino. Updating emails, getting tea for Jeffrey, preparing sales files, a PIM meeting here and there, Teams meetings with customers, making plans for the future, internal consultation on current and future orders, getting tea for Jeffrey, closing and going home.
How does your work affect the rest of the company?
To me, a team is like a steel cable. Every part of this cable is important and allows a team to be strong. I am aware that I need other departments to bring in orders. The moment the order is received, we need each other again to keep the Toploader functioning in perfect condition. In this, we all contribute to the success.
What is important to you in a company?
For me it is important that I can continue to develop myself and that I have room to think along, that new ideas can be incorporated and implemented within the specified scope. Keeping each other focused. Effort and commitment from everyone and the realization that we are jointly responsible for the end result.
What makes the job interesting for you?
I see my first year at Javo as a period to become familiar with the function and the organization, to understand the Toploader better and better and to gain insight into the market and the applications for the various industries. The moment I start actively visiting customers and trade shows, the picture will become even more complete for me.
What does the department mean to you?
The departments where I spend most of my time are Sales and Marketing. I notice that because of the ‘flat’ structure, everyone is easy to approach and I experience that as positive. The difference in age and work experience among colleagues makes this team a dynamic and fun group for me. I feel good, I have found my place.
